What is CAREjourney.com?

CAREjourney.com is a revolutionary website to assist you in finding care for your loved one. CAREjourney.com provides matching tools that offer peace of mind during the stressful time of searching for home care as well as a community of others in like situations to offer support. CAREjourney.com is not a home care agency, but rather a place for Care Receivers, CareGivers and Agencies to come together and help provide the best possible care relationship for everyone.

What is a Care Receiver?

A Care Receiver is person needing care or looking for someone to provide care. A Care Receiver may be a child of an aging parent, a spouse of an Alzheimer's patient, or a parent of a special needs child. A Care Receiver could also be you, looking for care for yourself as you recover from an illness or surgery.

What is a Caregiver?

A Caregiver is someone who provides care. A Caregiver may have skills that range from companion care with little or no medical experience to many years of collective experience of caring for aging and those with terminal disease. A CareGiver can be hired by a Care Receiver or Care Coordinator independently or through an Agency.

What is an Agency?

An Agency employs CareGivers to care for Care Receivers. An Agency assumes some of the liabilities and duties of a Care Coordinator such as carrying insurance, paying payroll taxes, scheduling Care Givers, assessing needs, etc. Hiring an Agency costs a little more than hiring CareGivers directly, but for many, the added cost may far outweigh the liability, stress and complication of hiring a CareGiver independently. Agencies have the opportunity to use CAREjourney.com to find great CareGivers and Care Receivers.

What is a Care Coordinator?

A Care Coordinator is a person or company who coordinates care for a Care Receiver. This may be the Care Receiver themselves, a family member, a friend, an Agency or another professional qualified to carry out this responsibility. Don't be fooled by the name. This is a difficult job and tends to be increasingly difficult as the care needs of the Care Receiver increase. On CAREjourney.com you will see the term "Care Receiver", but if the Care Receiver is not coordinating their own care, then this is really referring to the Care Coordinator.

What does it cost to subscribe?

It is absolutely free to register. Then you can look at the CAREaccount page and see if the features are what you need for your CAREjourney. If you like what you see, you can subscribe to the plan that fits your needs.

Do you screen CareGivers?

We do not screen CareGivers. However, upon joining they are encouraged to purchase a background check on themselves and they can grant permission for a Care Receiver to view the background check. Every CareGiver is able to become a member of CAREjourney.com unless they violate the Terms of Service.

Care Receivers, with permission from the CareGiver, have the opportunity to purchase a background check on them. The results will show up in the CareGiver background check area of their profile. The Care Receiver can conduct interviews by phone, email or secure internal messaging on CAREjourney.com to determine if the CareGiver is a good match for the Care Receiver. In addition, there are many great screening resources outside of CAREjourney.com.

Do you screen Care Receivers?

We do not screen Care Receivers. Every Care Receiver is able to become a member of CAREjourney.com unless they violate the Terms of Service.

If I am a CareGiver, how can I find employment through CAREjourney.com?

If you are at least 18 years of age, you can register cg_register and fill out your FREE assessment. The information based on this assessment will be stored in our CAREmatch system. Care Receivers will be matched with you based on location, skills, personality and hobbies. It is the Care Receiver's responsibility to contact you for an employment opportunity. It's FREE! Be patient and let us prove to you that CAREjourney.com will find you enjoyable work!

Why can't I verify my email address?

After you gen_register, you will be sent an email with instructions how to verify your email address that you provided during the registration process. Sometimes people do not receive the instructional email for a variety of reasons. First, you should check your junk mail folder. If your email program does not recognize our email address, the email may be placed in this folder. If this is the case, please be sure to take whatever procedure your email program requires to identify our email address as ok to receive. Sometimes this involves putting us on your whitelist. Use your program's help section to find out how.

If you do not find the email in your junk folder, you should contact your email or internet service provider (ISP) and see if they can troubleshoot the problem with you. You can always have the email resent by going here. Unfortunately if you cannot receive the verification email, you cannot register. We must be able to verify your email for security reasons.
