Ibuprofen - (brand name Advil, Motrin, etc.) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain and swelling (inflammation). It is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. This medication is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pains due to the common cold or flu.

Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura - (ITP) is a bleeding disorder caused by an abnormally low level of platelets in the patient'sblood.
Illness - disease of body or mind; poor health; sickness.
Imagery - the formation of a mental representation of something perceived by the senses.
Immobility - standing still and unable to move.
Immune System - a complex system of cellular components having the primary functions of distinguishing self from not self and of defense against foreign organisms or substances.
Impair - to damage or weaken in strength or quality.
Incapacitated - deprived of strength or ability; disabled.
Incision - a cut into a body tissue or organ, especially one made during surgery.
Incompetent - inadequate for or unsuited to a particular purpose or application. Not legally qualified.
Incontinence - is the lack of voluntary control of excretory functions; the term is a contraction of a complete expression, such as "incontinence of urine" or "incontinence of feces". Incontinence mostly occurs in adults but can also occur in teens. Incontinence is usually referred to about urine when leakage occurs that cannot be helped or stopped. There are two different types of urinary incontinence: stress and urge. Incontinence of stress is when leakage occurs during laughter, sneezing, coughing, etc. Usually, those with stress incontinence do not recognize it as a medical condition. In most cases, stress incontinence is not dangerous and can often be treated through retraining of muscles. Incontinence of urge, however, is when you feel the sudden need to urinate and cannot help but have an accident. This is caused by losing the first message sensation telling you that you need to urinate.
Independent - able to perform all activities of daily living without assistance.
Independent Living - senior housing development that may provide supportive services such as meals, housekeeping, social activities, and transportation (also known as congregate housing, supportive housing, retirement community, elderly housing). Independent Living typically encourages socialization by provision of meals in a central dining area and scheduled social programs. May also be used to describe housing with few or no services (senior apartment).

Infiltrate - to pass (a liquid or gas) through (a substance) by filtering or (of a liquid or gas) to pass through (a substance) by filtering.
Inflammation - a localized protective reaction of tissue to irritation, injury, or infection, characterized by pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes loss of function.
Influenza - (also flu) an acute, contagious, viral infection characterized by inflammation of the respiratory tract and by fever, chills, muscular pain, and prostration.
Ingestion - the taking of food, drugs, etc. into the body by mouth.
Inhalation - the drawing of air or other substances into the lungs.
Inherit - to receive (a characteristic) from one's parents by genetic transmission.
Inject - to introduce a substance, such as a drug or vaccine, into a body part.
Injury - damage or harm done to or suffered by a person or thing.
Insomnia - chronic inability to fall asleep or remain asleep for an adequate length of time.
Instability - lack of steadiness or stability.
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living - (IADLs) day-to-day tasks such as preparing meals, shopping, managing money, taking medication, and housekeeping.
Insulin - a hormone secreted by the pancreas in response to high blood sugar levels that induces hypoglycemia. Insulin regulates the body's use of glucose and the levels of glucose in the blood by acting to open the cells so that they can intake glucose.
Insurance - any means of guaranteeing against loss or harm.
Intelligence - the ability to understand, learn, and think things out quickly.
Interview - a conversation with or questioning of a person, usually conducted for a possible hiring.

Intoxication - a mental, physical, or emotional state produced by a substance.
Intravenous - (IV) within or administered into a vein.
Invalidate - to make or show (an argument) to be invalid; to take away the legal force of (a contract).
Invasive - tendency to spread, especially into healthy tissue; relating to a medical procedure in which a part of the body is entered, as by puncture or incision.
Involuntary - not under conscious control. Most of the biological processes in animals that are vital to life, such as contraction of the heart, blood flow, breathing, and digestion, are involuntary.
IQ - intelligence quotient; a measure of a person's intelligence.
Irritation - a condition of inflammation, soreness, or irritability of a bodily organ or part.
